The Director Food Services provides overall leadership for Food Service operations at the Anschutz (Aurora), North (Broomfield) and South (Highlands Ranch) Campuses.
Please note, this role will need to travel in between locations within the system of care. Will primarily be working days, however, may need to work night/holidays/weekends depending on the department’s needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develops annual goals and measures for Food Service operations and evaluates performance against goals.
- Plans and directs food service staff in the preparation and service of high-quality food. Leads special projects designed to improve sales, customer service or food quality.
- Establishes and maintains standards related to food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Oversees the procurement, receiving, storage, preparation and service of food and related equipment.
- Partners with Executive Chef and Clinical Nutrition to plan meals.
- Ensures customer service standards are met. Investigates and resolves complaints regarding food quality and customer service.
- Manages communications to the organization on service delivery and special projects. Maintains effective working relationships with peers across the organization.
- Provides instruction through on-the-job or formalized training to food services staff. Evaluates performance and provides continuous feedback. Oversees hiring, coaching for improved performance and disciplinary actions.
- Carries accountability for all Food Services cost centers, developing recommendations to improve cost control, reduce expenses, and generate revenue.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
SCOPE & LEVEL
Guidelines: Guidelines are in in the form of stated vision and goals for the operation.
Complexity: Work assignment is unstructured, and leader is responsible for developing, directing, and managing outcomes and multi-year strategies in order to achieve the objectives of the operation. Duties performed include operational planning; developing standards, priorities, guidelines, processes, measurement (evaluation) systems; implementation of production and performance management standards; and allocating resources. Work is strategic and operational in nature.
Decision Making: Team member is responsible for managing multiple functions that requires developing and implementing strategies, business plans, and policies; determining required resources; defining and evaluating performance standards; and resolving complex business problems.
Communications: Communication at this level is internally and externally focused. Involves establishing and maintaining effective, collaborative working relationships with team members, peers, and executives. Provides information and negotiates solutions to functional issues that have major consequences or long-term significance.
Supervision Received: Responsible and accountable for driving strategy and achieving results for function(s). Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and conclusions, fiscal accountability, and the attainment of goals and objectives of the operation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate’s degree
- Preference: MBA, MHA, MS Nutrition
Experience: Five years of leadership experience over food service operations.
- Preference: Experience leading Food Service operations across multiple sites within a system of care
Equivalency: Additional year of leadership experience will substitute for a year of the education requirement.
Certification(s): Certification as a ServSafe Food Manager is required within six (6) months of hire.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $104,305.70 to $173,842.82
