Duties & Responsibilities
• Donor Analytics & Insight Generation
• Analyze donor and prospect data to identify behavioral trends, giving patterns, upgrade potential, retention risks, and pipeline opportunities.
• Evaluate the performance of Annual Giving campaigns, stewardship activity, and Signature Events to surface insights that strengthen audience targeting, segmentation, invitation strategies, and post event engagement.
• Partner with Marketing to design and assess A/B tests and audience experiments to optimize outreach strategies.
• Translate analytic findings into actionable insights and recommendations that support audience targeting, donor journey execution, and fundraising decision making.
• Support effective use of internal and third party predictive and modeling scores to enhance strategic decision making about donor segments.
• Define analytical questions, determine data requirements, and interpret results that inform fundraising program decisions.
• Analyze donor retention, reactivation, attrition, and lifetime value to identify loyalty risks and opportunities for deeper engagement.
• Identify behavioral signals that trigger donor movement between segments, audiences, or journey stages.
• Pipeline & Portfolio Quality Control
• Monitor data quality and identify issues related to prospect ratings, portfolio manager assignments, pipeline stages, and solicitation tracking.
• Conduct ongoing audits of pipeline and portfolio activity to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for the Foundation’s Prospect Development department to support strategic action.
• Identify donor movement and portfolio optimization opportunities across departments to support pipeline development.
• Analyze retention, attrition, and lifetime value trends to inform stewardship strategies and long term donor engagement.
• Reporting & List Requirements Collaboration
• Lead intake, clarification, prioritization and delivery of donor audience and list requests to ensure alignment with overall strategy.
• Produce donor lists according to defined criteria and verify list setups for direct response marketing initiatives.
• Gather and document business requirements for dashboards, reports, and analytic tools developed by IT and external partners.
• Maintain alignment and consistency in segmentation rules, audience definitions, KPIs, and analytical standards across teams.
• Provide consultative support and training to help staff interpret insights, apply segmentation logic, and use analytic outputs in strategy and planning.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of four years of experience in a professional environment, including at least two years of direct experience in donor analytics, audience segmentation, fundraising insights, prospect development analytics, or a related strategic analysis role.
The Manager, Donor Insights will have the following knowledge and skills to do this job:
Experience working with a CRM system (e.g., Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce) and interpreting donor and prospect data; fundraising CRM experience preferred.
Strong analytical skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Demonstrated ability to translate donor data into insights and strategic recommendations that inform audience segmentation, targeting, or pipeline strategy.
Experience preparing and presenting analytical findings in clear, compelling formats for internal stakeholders and external agency partners.
High attention to detail, including experience supporting data quality, coding consistency, or donor pipeline/portfolio review.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
Degrees- An undergraduate (BA/BS) degree from an accredited college or university is required. No equivalency.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $70,200.00 to $95,500.00
