Experience and background
I see most pediatric endocrine conditions. I have a special interest in polycystic ovarian syndrome and oversee a special clinic for girls with this condition who are also overweight, to try to offer a complete treatment plan in 1-2 visits.

My research interests are focused on how insulin works in youth with polycystic ovarian syndrome or diabetes. We are trying to better understand how high insulin levels cause disease, so that we can prevent related conditions such as fatty liver disease or heart disease and develop new therapies.

I perform research in insulin resistance in girls with PCOS, youth with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. My interests are focused on the interaction between glucose and fat metabolism and how the interplay leads to insulin resistance, fatty liver disease and early cardiovascular disease.
