For Patients:
My research interests include using new rapid tests to improve the care of children with infections. I am interested in learning more about what causes brain and spinal cord infections in children, as well as better ways to diagnose and treat them. I have been investigating the causes of acute flaccid myelitis, which causes paralysis in children, including enterovirus D68 and A71. I am seeking to improve our pandemic preparedness by studying ways to expedite the development of tools to predict, detect, and respond to emerging infectious diseases.

My research interests include: -implementation of rapid diagnostic technologies for infectious diseases to improve the clinical care of children -central nervous system infections in children (meningitis, encephalitis, myelitis) -enteroviruses (EV-D68, EV-A71), parechoviruses -acute flaccid myelitis -emerging infections/ pandemic preparedness
