Pediatric Outreach Education

The Outreach Education team at Children’s Hospital Colorado leads pediatric professional development for community partners across our seven-state region. We provide innovative, strategic, high-quality and coordinated clinical education and resources to enhance the pediatric expertise of healthcare professionals.

Education opportunities

Our team of pediatric experts offers a wide range of outreach education to provide pediatric expertise and training to any clinician who needs it. These opportunities are in-person, virtual or on-demand to meet your needs.

In-person opportunities are available on-site at Children’s Colorado locations, as well as partner locations. We can come to you with customized training to meet your specific needs. Examples of in-person offerings include:

• Pediatric Emergency and Trauma Outreach Symposia for interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Pediatric Education Days including hands on skills stations and simulation  
• Annual, two-day Fundamental Critical Care Support Pediatric Course (FCCSP) combines expert-developed lectures with hands-on skill stations

Virtual education opportunities allow participants from across our region and the country to learn from instructors in a variety of formats, with continuing education credits often available. View all our regularly scheduled series on our continuing education website.

On-demand education opportunities are virtual and may be completed where and when is most convenient for you. Continuing education credits can be earned for nursing, medical and EMS courses.

OneCall

One Call is the only call community providers need to make to consult a specialist, access hospital resources, or get their patients the care they need. It is available for 24-hour specialist consultation, admission, diagnostic dilemmas and information for healthcare providers. This service also assists referring providers with both ED transfers and admissions. Contact us at 720 -777-3999 or 800-525-4871.

One of our goals is to make sure that no matter where your clinic is located or whether your clinical team trained in pediatrics, you are ready to care for pediatric patients when patient families walk through your doors. In addition to the educational opportunities we offer, we also work with valuable partners who provide information and resources to ensure you are prepared for pediatric emergencies:

• Emergency Medical Services for Children is a national resource to help ensure your ED or EMS is ready to provide pediatric care in an emergency.
• EMS for Children Colorado is working to integrate pediatric emergency care into the state mergency medical system and has a range of resources available.
